2020年は、何度も長い間、自分自身が深い孤独の中に見つけていた。社会からも、特に自分にとって大切な人からも。それまでの僕は、大切な人たちのことを思い出させてくれるものにしがみついていた。素敵な時を思い出し、将来への希望を与えてくれるもの。
ある日、突然の啓示のように、今のものの大切さに気づくことができるようになった。目の前にあるもの、日々の生活の中での出会い、その出会いに感謝すること。縁あって見つけたものもあるのではないかと思うこともある。僕が前を見続けるために、上から送られてきた意味のあるお守りとして。
2020年は、一人にならざるを得ない年だったが、そこでは、自分に寄り添ってくれるものに感謝することで、そのことと向き合うことを学んだ。そして、これらは僕と一緒にいてくれるアイテム。
Amulets from Above
2020 was a year in which I found myself in deep isolation for numerous occasions and long periods of time. Both from society, but also especially from the people most special to me. Up until then, I had been hanging on to items that reminded me of the people most dear to me. To remember me of the good times, and to give me hope for the days yet to come.
One day, like a sudden revelation, I was able to start recognizing things in the present and their importance. Things in front of me, encounters in my daily life, and appreciating those encounters. Sometimes I think that I’ve found some of these things by fate. As meaningful amulets sent from above, to help me continue to look ahead.
2020 was the year in which I was forced to be alone, and therein learned to deal with that by appreciating anything and everything that accompanies me. And these are the items that kept me company.
